LUCKNOW, July 28 -- A 25-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband in Lucknow's Mal police station area on Saturday, police said. According to officials, the accused, identified as Ravi, smashed his wife Seema's head with bricks following a heated argument at their home in Pakra village. The couple's four-year-old daughter reportedly witnessed the incident. Neighbours said loud music was playing in the house at the time, possibly drowning out the sounds of the assault. The incident came to light when the child entered the house and saw her mother writhing in pain. Her screams alerted neighbours, who found Seema severely injured and unconscious. According to the police, Seema was taken to the primary health centre and later referred to the Trauma Centre in Lucknow, where she died during treatment. Police sealed the house and called forensic teams to collect evidence. "Preliminary investigation suggests the crime took place under the influence of alcohol. Dedicated teams have been formed to arrest the accused," Mal station house officer (SHO) Nawab Ahmad said. Ravi, who had returned from Chandigarh three days earlier to visit a relative, fled the scene after the incident. Villagers told police that he was a habitual drinker and often quarrelled with his wife, police said. The victim's family, residents of Talwa Pichhwara village in Unnao district, have been informed. "A case will be registered based on a written complaint by the family. Necessary action is being taken," SHO Ahmad said....
