Man kills father, sister over land dispute: Cops
VARANASI, July 9 -- A 78-year-old father and his 50-year-old daughter were allegedly murdered by his son following a dispute over land in Pratapnagar Colony under the Cantt police station area of Varanasi district on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Roop Chandra Bhardwaj and his daughter Shivkumari. Police said the accused, Rajesh Kumar, has been taken into custody.
According to initial findings, the killings allegedly stemmed from an altercation between Rajesh and his father over a land dispute. Following the argument, Rajesh attacked his father and sister using bricks and grinding stones, resulting in their deaths.
Police said both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
Senior police officials, including additional commissioner of police (Crime) Rajesh Kumar Singh, additional commissioner of police (Law and Order) Shivhari Meena, and other police officials, inspected the crime scene for investigation....
