Man killed in village clash in Azamgarh
VARANASI, Sept. 21 -- A 62-year-old man died after a violent clash broke out in Kadipur Harkesh village, under Kaptanganj police station area in Azamgarh district, on Friday, police said.
The incident began when Babloo Rajbhar, 40, a local resident, scolded a girl from the village. He accused her of snatching his mobile phone. In response, the girl raised an alarm, and many villagers gathered at the spot.
The crowd turned violent and attacked Babloo. Hearing the commotion, Kanhaiya Rajbhar, 62, rushed to the spot to calm the situation. However, some people in the crowd started beating him with sticks and rods. Kanhaiya sustained injuries and was taken to hospital, where he later died during treatment. Babloo Rajbhar also sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical care. Tension spread in the village after the news of the death.
Police arrived quickly and deployed a large force to bring the situation under control. Senior officers, including the superintendent of Police and the circle officer, visited the village and met the victim's family.
