Jaipur, Oct. 12 -- A man has been arrested from Alwar district of Rajasthan on charges of spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI). The accused, Mangat Singh, was produced before a special court in Jaipur on Saturday, officials aware of the details said, adding that he has been remanded in police custody for three days. Singh was arrested on Friday. In an official statement, the intelligence unit of Rajasthan Police said, "The accused, Mangat Singh, has been arrested under Official Secrets Acts, 1923. He was also produced before the court on Saturday morning and was taken to the custody on a three-day-remand. The action was taken after we traced his suspicious movements at the Alwar Army cantonment area." Singh, a resident Alwar's Govindgarh, had allegedly been in contact with Pakistani "handlers" for the past two years and was passing sensitive information, according to officials. An intelligence official privy to the details said, "Since Operation Sindoor, he was also honey-trapped by a woman Pakistani handler who was working under the pseudonym 'Isha Sharma'." The official added, "This woman lured him with money in exchange for sharing information about the crucial cantonment area of Alwar city and other strategic locations in the country through social media."...
