LUCKNOW, March 28 -- A 23-year-old man was arrested by the Jankipuram police on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after luring her into a relationship on the pretext of marriage. According to the press release, the woman lodged a complaint on March 26 complaining that the accused befriended her, gained her trust, and later administered an intoxicating substance before establishing physical relations with her. She further alleged that he abused her and threatened to kill her. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered at Jankipuram police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation was handed over to sub-inspector Praveen Kumar.
