Rudrapur, April 15 -- A 39-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing a pedestrian after hitting him with a tractor trolly and dumping the body in a drain in Kichha town of Udham Singh Nagar district, police said on Tuesday, adding that a search is underway to trace two of his associates who are still absconding. "We have arrested an accused for hitting and killing a man with his tractor trolley. He was identified through CCTV cameras. He and his two associates later dumped the deceased's body in a nullah to hide the crime," said inspector at Kichha police station Prakash Danu. Police said the deceased, identified as Ramveer, 42, a resident of Kichha, worked as a fitter in a factory in the town. The incident took place on April 8, when he was returning home after completing his shift around 10 pm. His family searched for him but could not trace him and filed a missing person report with the police the following day. "During investigation, police found that Ramveer was walking along the roadside when a tractor trolley lost control while overtaking another tractor trolley. He died after being hit by the vehicle," Danu said. Police said after the incident, two men arrived at the spot in a car. They placed the body in the car's dicky and later dumped it in a drain about 500 metres away. During the investigation, police identified the accused through CCTV footage and arrested Chand Shah, a resident of Bhojipura in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. Police said two other accused, Babloo and Shahid Ali, are still absconding and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them. htc...
