Man held for harassing girls
LUCKNOW, Sept. 25 -- A 22-year-old man was arrested in Gomti Nagar Extension for allegedly harassing girls near Makdumpur village on Tuesday night, as part of the state government's Mission Shakti initiative to curb public harassment of women.
Police said they received a complaint through Dial 112 reporting a youth disturbing passersby. A team led by sub inspector Sapna Yadav, along with women constables and Pink Panther mobile support, rushed to the spot and caught the accused in the act.
The man, identified as Shivam Verma, a native of Sitapur currently staying at a hotel in Gomti Nagar Extension, was taken into custody.
Verma has been booked under Section 296(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).HTC...
