Man held for duping youth via fake overseas job offer
LUCKNOW, Oct. 26 -- A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly duping unemployed youth in Lucknow by offering a fake overseas job on social media. Police seized multiple fraudulent appointment letters and mobile phones from his possession, officials said.
The case came to light after Mohd Fakhre Alam, 24, a resident of Vinaya Khand, filed a complaint stating that Akash Kumar took money for a foreign job but neither provided employment nor returned the money. Gomti Nagar Police registered an FIR under Sections 318(4), 338, 336(3), and 340(2) of the BNS.
The accused, Akash Kumar, was arrested from his flat in Arjunganj, Lucknow. Police said he allegedly lured youth with promises of foreign jobs, prepared fraudulent appointment letters, collected money, and then cut off contact with victims.
