Man Held for duping army aspirants
LUCKNOW, June 29 -- The UP Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday arrested a sepoy rank army personnel from Sitapur for allegedly duping army aspirants by impersonating a colonel-rank officer and promising them recruitment in the Indian Army. A press note from the UP STF confirmed the arrest.
According to officials, the STF team recovered four forged recruitment letters, an army uniform and other incriminating evidence. A senior STF official identified the accused as Rahul Kumar, a resident of Kakrala village under the jurisdiction of Khatuali police station in Sitapur. He was posted as a constable in the Mahar Regiment in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.
The official said the accused was arrested from his relative's house in Sitapur on Saturday. During interrogation, Rahul confessed that while off duty, he used to pose as a colonel-rank officer to cheat unemployed youth by promising them jobs in the army. A case has been registered against him at Sitapur City Kotwali under relevant sections of the BNS related to impersonation, cheating and forgery....
