LUCKNOW, Nov. 5 -- A 40-year-old man who allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted an 18-year-old woman with a disability on Sunday has been arrested, police said. "The accused, identified as Durgvijay Yadav, son of Shyam Dev Yadav and a resident of Aalishan City under Para police station limits, was nabbed from Sleeper Ground in Manaknagar on Monday," said JK Dubey, Additional DCP (Central). A scooter bearing registration number UP 32 MR 3936, used in the crime, was recovered from his possession. According to the ADCP, an FIR was lodged on November 3 after a complaint was given by the woman's father under Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Manaknagar police station. "The complainant reported that his daughter was enticed by an unknown person on November 2. The woman was rescued from an area under the Kakori police station limits after the FIR was filed. During an investigation by sub-inspector Gyan Singh, the accused's identity surfaced. Based on family statements and probe findings, the case was enhanced under Section 64(2) BNS. According to police, the accused had previously been booked under section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act at Anti Power Theft in a police station in Lucknow.
