Man gets 20 years for raping minor girl
Agra, Dec. 13 -- A special court here sentenced a man to 20 years of imprisonment for raping a minor girl. The 10-year-old survivor was raped on December 23, 2019 when she was going to her uncle's house. A case was registered against the incident at the Hari Parvat police station.
Special judge (POCSO Act) Sonika Chaudhary passed the orders on Thursday and held the accused, Aniket alias Anikesh, guilty under Section 5m/6 of the POCSO Act 2012 and awarded him 20 years of imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 70,000.
According to the complainant, the 10-year-old was going to her uncle's house when Aniket, who lived nearby, took her to his house and assaulted her.
The accused was arrested by Hari Parvat police in Agra, and a charge sheet was filed on February 18, 2020. After the counsel appearing on behalf of the accused pleaded that this was his first offence, the court observed that rape with a minor girl was of a serious nature....
