Man found with bodies of 3 family members, pet cat; held for murder
Bhopal/Betul, Feb. 20 -- A 25-year-old man was arrested on Thursday morning for allegedly killing three family members and a pet cat in Sanvga village.
The accused, identified as Deepak Dhurve, was discovered by neighbours silently sitting beside the bodies of his father, Hansu Dhurve (55), his mother, Kamalti Dhurve (40), and his younger brother, Dilip Dhurve (20). His five-year-old nephew, Prashant Parte, was found at the scene in critical condition and has been rushed for medical treatment.
Betul superintendent of police, Virendra Kumar Jain, said the incident came to light after neighbours noticed a lack of activity at the residence. "Neighbours knocked the door, but when no one answered, they broke open the door and found Dhurve sitting near the three bodies, and a cat's carcass," he said. When informed, police reached the spot and found iron rods and sticks. Dhurve was subsequently arrested.
Neighbours said Dhurve is the eldest son and was a district topper in his Class 12 exams. He also appeared in the CRPF recruitment exam but couldn't selected....
