Man found murdered, three suspects detained
PRAYAGRAJ, Jan. 2 -- The body of a man identified as that of Dharmendra Sonkar, 30, was found lying in a pool of blood near a brick kiln at his Asware Kala Dildarganj village under Airport police station limits in Prayagraj late on Wednesday night, police said on Thursday.
His family said Dharmendra had left home on Wednesday evening to collect dues from the brick kiln owner Sudhir Maurya for whom he worked as a driver. Police have registered a case against unknown accused and detained three suspects.
The police said Dharmendra had been stabbed multiple times and struck with a heavy object. Sources revealed that the autopsy confirmed 25 stab wounds, along with severe head injuries. Acting on a complaint filed by Dharmendra's wife, the police registered an FIR against unidentified assailants and launched an investigation into the incident.
Villagers claimed Dharmendra had attended a New Year's party with friends on Wednesday night and had consumed alcohol with some youths near the brick kiln. The brutality of the attack has led police to explore a possible revenge angle.
Meanwhile, the victim's family has alleged that a youth from the same village had a dispute with Dharmendra over money three to four months ago and had even threatened him.
Confirming the incident, ACP (Dhoomanganj) Ajayendra Yadav said: "Some suspects have been detained for questioning. The case will be worked out soon."...
