Lucknow, Oct. 2 -- A 33-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Sarojininagar late on Tuesday night. Police suspect a quarrel between two brothers may have caused the incident. The deceased, a resident of Rajnighand, Shardanagar (under Ashiana police station limits), was living in rented accommodation in Gindan Khera, Sarojininagar. Around 10 pm on Tuesday, his younger brother took him to the community health centre (CHC) in an unconscious state. Doctors declared him dead on arrival. Officials said the man had visible head injuries and bleeding. The hospital staff informed the police around 11 pm. "The brother who brought him did not tell the police about the incident at first and has given unclear statements about what happened," an officer said. Preliminary inquiries with locals revealed the two brothers, both unmarried contract labourers, had a fight while under the influence of alcohol. Police are still verifying the exact sequence of events. "The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Investigators are checking CCTV footage from nearby and questioning the younger brother, who is under police scrutiny," police said in an official press note. "Given the unclear statements and circumstances, the case appears suspicious. We are waiting for forensic and post-mortem results before taking further action," said a Lucknow police statement....
