Man dies days after accident that also killed son
LUCKNOW, Dec. 18 -- A man injured in a tragic road accident in Lucknow's Indiranagar succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Thursday, five days after the crash that had claimed the life of his six-year-old son on the spot, police said.
The deceased, identified as Salim, a resident of Deva in Barabanki district, had come to Lucknow with his son Hamza and two others on a motorcycle. They were returning from a wedding ceremony when the accident occurred around 1.30 pm near Bajrang crossing. Their motorcycle reportedly collided head-on with a tractor-trolley coming from the opposite direction.
The impact was so severe that Hamza was thrown off the bike and died instantly after sustaining critical head injuries. Salim, though wearing a helmet, suffered serious head injuries and was admitted to Lohia Hospital, where he died during treatment. Another rider sustained minor injuries. The tractor driver fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle. Indiranagar police said further legal action would be initiated after receiving a complaint from the family.
Police in Malihabad have registered an FIR following a complaint of an alleged attempt to murder on a village road. The case was registered on Wednesday on the basis of a written complaint submitted by Anupam Singh (28), a resident of Purwa village under Malihabad police station limits.
According to police, Anupam Singh alleged that Golu Gazi, Danish, Kamil, Black Golu and some unidentified persons attacked him on a village road with an intention to kill. "Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including attempt to murder, assault and use of weapons," read a Lucknow police statement. Police said the victim was sent for medical examination and further investigation is underway. "Acting on directions of senior officers, teams have been formed to arrest the accused," the statement added....
