Bharatpur, May 2 -- A 30-year-old man died by suicide after allegedly shooting and critically injuring his wife during her cousin's wedding on Friday in Bharatpur district, police said. According to police, the incident took place in village Singhawali. The deceased was a resident of Agra district of Uttar Pradesh. The woman's cousin brother said that his 25-year-old cousin sister married the deceased in Agra around four years ago. The woman had come to her mother's house to attend the marriage programmes. Her husband, a truck driver, reached the venue around noon and called her into a room, where the two had an argument, Rupwas police station in-charge Vinod Meena said. "He took her inside a room, locked it, and shot her in the chest with a country-made pistol before turning the weapon on himself," Meena said. Family members and relatives reached the room after hearing screaming and the sound of gunshot, they found them lying in a pool of blood, Singh said. On being informed, police reached the spot and took both of them to Rupwas Community Health Centre where the husband was declared dead by the doctors, Meena said....
