Man dies after fight with brother over electricity bill
LUCKNOW, Nov. 11 -- A 40-year-old man, who was allegedly pushed and hit in the chest by his younger brother during a quarrel over sharing payment of their electricity bill in Lucknow's Krishna Nagar area, died soon after the incident on Monday morning, police said. However, the police said that no FIR had been registered in the case.
According to SHO Krishna Nagar PK Singh, the incident occurred in Alinagar Sunhara Rustam Bihar Colony where Shiv Shankar Nishad lives with his four sons Rakesh (40), Karmveer, Dharmveer and Jitendra.
As per the police, around 11 am Rakesh received an electricity bill message on his phone and asked his younger brother Dharmveer, who drives an e-rickshaw and charges it at home, to contribute a larger share of the bill.
"An argument broke out between the two brothers on the issue. In a fit of anger, Dharmveer allegedly pushed Rakesh to the ground and kicked him in the chest. Rakesh collapsed and began gasping for breath," the SHO added.
The family rushed him to the community health centre in Sarojininagar where doctors declared him dead. Family members told police that Rakesh had suffered a heart attack about a year ago and had undergone a stent procedure at Lari Cardiology.
Singh said Dharmveer has been detained for questioning and further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and family's complaint. Rakesh worked in a private company. His wife passed away a year ago. He is survived by two children....
