PRAYAGRAJ, May 23 -- A 25-year-old man died after accidentally falling into a roadside well while allegedly trying to flee upon seeing a police vehicle in the Karehda area under Kareli police station on Wednesday night. The deceased, Vijay Prakash, was rescued with the help of the fire brigade but was declared dead at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, Prayagraj. According to reports, some individuals were allegedly consuming drugs near a roadside kiosk around 600 meters from Vijay's house. Vijay, a resident of Karehda, who had been living alone, was also sitting nearby when police arrived on a night patrol. Upon seeing the lights of the police vehicle, the people sitting over there reportedly started fleeing. Vijay panicked and, in his attempt to run, accidentally fell into the well.
