LUCKNOW, Nov. 19 -- A labourer who was returning to his native village in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district from Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore, where he worked, died after he apparently fell from a moving train at Charbagh railway station here late on Monday night, police said. The deceased identified as Abdul, 36, dozed off, slipped onto the tracks and came under the train, they added. Police said the incident occurred moments before the train's scheduled halt. "He appeared to have fallen asleep near the door and slipped when the train jerked," said Lucknow GRP station house officer Dharamveer Singh. He was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him dead. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
