PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 10 -- A man who had been to his in-laws' house in Amilia village under Ghoorpur police station area of Prayagraj, was killed on Thursday when a concrete roof in a dilapidated state collapsed on him. Manik Lal Patel, a resident of Amilia under Ghoorpur police station area, owned an old ancestral home in the village, which had a concrete roof made of bricks cemented with unbaked mortar. The roof was in such a dilapidated condition that demolition work was underway. On Thursday, Manik Lal's son-in-law, Pradeep Patel (28), a resident of Mohani-Ka-Pura under Ghoorpur police station area visited his in-laws' house. Around 1 pm, when the labourers stopped work and went to have lunch, Pradeep climbed to the roof to observe the ongoing work. Suddenly, the roof of the house collapsed, completely burying Pradeep under the debris. On hearing the loud sound of roof collapse, neighbours rushed to the spot and pulled Pradeep out of the debris and rushed him to hospital....
