Man dies after coming in contact with live wire
Haldwani, Sept. 8 -- A 48-year-old labourer died after coming in contact with a live wire while working at a construction site in Bageshwar district on Sunday, police said.
The incident took place in Tok Bhanar of Mandalsera area. According to Circle Officer (CO) Ajay Lal Sah, construction was underway at the house of Jagdish Prasad when the victim, identified as Sunder Ram, came in contact with a live high-tension line.
"While carrying an iron ladder to the roof, the ladder accidentally touched the power line. Sunder Ram suffered a severe electric shock and collapsed on the spot," Sah said.
He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police later sent the body for post-mortem examination.
In July a 56-year-old woman and her buffalo were electrocuted in Sitarganj area of Udham Singh Nagar district after coming into contact with an electric fence installed in an agricultural field. htc...
