PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 25 -- In a gruesome incident, a man beat his wife to death under the Handia police station area of Prayagraj on Friday. Villagers caught the fleeing accused and handed him over to the police. Meanwhile, the woman's parents have filed a complaint against the husband, brother-in-law and father-in-law. According to villagers, the accused locked the room's door and brutally beat the victim to death. As per reports, Rohit, a resident of Ward 1 in Handia town, worked as a daily wage labourer. He had married Khushbu, 27, daughter of Shobhnath of Dhanshipur village under the Utraon police station area of Prayagraj, eight years ago. The couple have a daughter and two sons. Due to their poor financial condition, the two often argued. On Friday afternoon, the couple again clashed over some issue. After sending their three children out of the room, Rohit locked the door from inside. He allegedly began beating Khushbu brutally with a stick. Hearing Khushbu's screams, people nearby rushed to the scene, but the door was locked from inside, preventing them from helping. After a while, Khushbu's screams stopped, and Rohit opened the door and tried to flee. The villagers caught him and handed him over to the police. Khushbu, who was found unconscious and covered in blood, was taken to CHC Upardaha, where doctors declared her dead. On receiving information about the incident, her father, Shobhnath, submitted a written complaint against Rohit, his father, Raj Bahadur, and his brother, Arvind. He stated that his daughter had been harassed since her marriage by her husband, father-in-law, and brother-in-law. Nitendra Shukla, SHO of Handia police station, said that the accused Rohit has been taken into custody and further action is being initiated. A tragic incident shook Mungari village under the Industrial police station area on Thursday night when a weakened mud wall of a house gave way, burying three family members under the debris. The elderly woman, who was sleeping at the time, lost her life, while her two grandchildren were injured, police said. The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Geeta Devi, wife of Kanhaiya Lal. The injured grandchildren, Yash, 6, son of Ranjay, and Shubham, 7, son of Sanjay, are undergoing treatment and are reported to be out of danger....
