LUCKNOW, Sept. 7 -- A 51-year-old astrologer and Vastu Shastra expert from Bihar was arrested from Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday for allegedly sending a bomb threat during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai, senior police officials confirmed. The threat message had claimed that 14 terrorists of the "Lashkar-e-Jihadi" group had entered Mumbai with 400 kg of RDX loaded in 34 vehicles, warning of blasts that could kill one crore people. A Noida police official said that the accused, identified as Ashwin Kumar Supra from Bihar, had been living in Noida for the last five years. He was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch with help of local police from his residence in Sector-79, Noida, and was taken to Mumbai for further investigation. The Mumbai police seized his phone, SIM card and other electronic devices, including four SIM card holders, six memory card holders, and two digital cards. According to police, Supra sent the threat message in the name of a man called Firoz, who had filed a case against him in Patna in 2023 that led to his three-month imprisonment. The threat was reportedly an act of revenge, aimed at framing Firoz. A case has been registered under Section 351 of BNS, which criminalises issuing threats intended to cause fear for life, property or safety. htc...
