Man arrested for fatal assault
LUCKNOW, May 19 -- A 25-year-old man was arrested by the Sarojini Nagar police on Sunday in connection with the recent death of a local resident who sustained fatal head injuries during a violent altercation over a broken electric wire. The incident occurred in Gahru village within Sarojini Nagar police station limits, authorities said in a statement.
"Further investigation is underway and hunt is on for other accused," SHO Rajdev Ram Prajapati said.
The victim, identified as Gopal, was allegedly attacked on May 11 by several accused, including Rakesh, Azad, and Prem, after an electric wire snapped from a utility pole led to the altercation.
As per the FIR filed by victim's nephew Deepak Kumar, the accused forcefully entered their house, hurled abuses and hit Gopal on the head with a heavy object. "Gopal was rushed to Lok Bandhu Hospital in critical condition. He was later shifted to a hospital in Banthra area where he succumbed on May 15," the statement said.
Following his death, police subsequently added sections 105 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to the case....
