PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 28 -- Kaushambi police have filed a case under the Gangsters' Act against the accused who murdered the driver and looted a trailer loaded with copper worth crores under Kokhraj police station area of Kaushambi. The Kokhraj police took this action after seeking approval of district magistrate, Kaushambi. Following lodging of the case, the police have also started investigation into the details of illegally acquired property by the accused which will soon be confiscated. SHO of Kokhraj police station Chandrabhushan Maurya stated that Kartik Rajbhar, a resident of Porai Khurd village in the Kheta Sarai area of Jaunpur district, was a notorious criminal. He said that Rajbhar and his gang had murdered a trailer driver, Rabarmal, from Rajasthan, on May 15, 2025 and looted a trailer carrying railway copper wire worth Rs 3.80 crore. They dumped the driver's body in the bushes near Kakodha village in the Kokhraj area. A total of nine accused were identified in the case of which one was killed in an encounter and two were minors. The remaining six accused have been charged under provisions of the Gangsters' Act. According to the SHO, accused criminals and gang members Mohammad Akram and Amit Kumar, were out of jail. A police team has been dispatched to arrest them. The Kaushambi police have sent letters to the SDM of other districts where these criminals hailed from, seeking details of their properties....
