PRAYAGRAJ, July 2 -- A tragic road accident claimed the lives of a man and his sister-in-law near Fatehullapur village when an uncontrolled car rammed into their motorcycle from behind as they were on their way to Kunda in Pratapgarh for medical treatment of the woman on Tuesday. The impact caused the duo to fall onto the road at a site under Manikpur police station, and the car ran over them before veering off into a roadside ditch, police said. With the help of villagers, police transported the injured to the CHC, where doctors declared both the man and the woman dead on arrival. Meanwhile, the occupants of the car narrowly escaped unharmed. The police took possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. Manikpur station house officer Deep Narayan said that a case will be registered based on the complaint of the kin of the two killed, and legal action will follow.
