LUCKNOW, July 2 -- Two men were rescued from the third floor of a multi-storey building after a major fire broke out at Regency Tower on Hewett Road, in the wee hours of Monday. The incident occurred around 1:46 am, prompting a swift response from multiple fire units led by chief fire officer (CFO) Ankush Mittal, said the Lucknow fire department. According to fire officials, the blaze began on the second floor of the building near Bengali Club in the Qaiserbagh area. During the operation, fire personnel were informed that two people were trapped on the third floor, amid heavy smoke and low visibility. "The rescued individuals were identified as Manish Yadav of Ghazipur and Shyam Sunder Sharma of Rae Bareli. No casualties were reported, and the fire was brought under control after additional support arrived from nearby fire stations," said RK Rawat, fire station officer, Hazratganj fire station.
