LUCKNOW, May 11 -- Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai has called for a high-level investigation into the alleged abduction of a female NEET aspirant from Mahoba district. In separate letters to Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath, Ajay Rai said the abduction of a NEET aspirant from Mahoba district reflects the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. "The victim and her family had lodged complaints with the local police a year ago regarding the threats and harassment allegedly carried out by the accused. Had the police acted seriously, the incident on April 30, 2026, could possibly have been prevented," Rai wrote in his letter to Amit Shah.
