Maha tourist dies after collapsing on Taj premises
Agra, May 15 -- A 45-year-old tourist from Latur (Maharashtra) died after collapsing in the forecourt area of the Taj Mahal on Wednesday afternoon. The unconscious tourist was taken to the dispensary near the eastern gate of the monument but was later referred to SN Medical College, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Prince Vajpayee, senior conservation assistant at the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) posted at the Taj Mahal, informed that the tourist, identified as Shivling Babayya Swami, 45, had entered through the eastern gate of the monument on Wednesday afternoon.
"He was immediately attended to by the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and taken in a wheelchair to the dispensary at the eastern gate," Vajpayee stated.
"The exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed. However, the family members were reluctant to have a postmortem conducted, claiming it to be a natural death and expressed their intention to take the body back to Latur," said Ruby Singh, in-charge of the Tourism Police Station....
