Magistrate to probe,warden suspended
Lakhimpur Kheri, Nov. 30 -- In the wake of an alleged suicide by a jail inmate on Friday, Lakhimpur Kheri DM Durga Shakti Nagpal has asked Kheri SP Sankalp Sharma to carry out a safety- cum-security audit of the Kheri jail and submit the report within 48 hours even as she instituted a magisterial probe into the death of the jail inmate. She assigned ADM, finance and revenue, Narendra Bahadur Singh the task of conducting a probe into the incident.
Meanwhile, the jail administration on Saturday suspended a warden Prithvi Raj Singh for laxity, said district jail superintendent PD Saloniya.
The family members of the deceased alleged that he was falsely implicated for the murder of a woman in his village. They also demanded action against the police. On Friday, Kheri SP Sankalp Sharma suspended Dhaurahra kotwali inspector Shiva Ji Dubey and three constables besides ordering a probe.
On Saturday, police and administrative officials met the aggrieved family and assured them of a fair inquiry into the incident....
