Rudrapur, May 4 -- Udham Singh Nagar district administration on Saturday demolished a madrasa allegedly built on government land, officials aware of the development said. "A madrasa in Kichha town was demolished by the district administration. The madrasa management was served notice to produce relevant documents about the structure but the management concerned failed. It was built on government land therefore the action was taken," said Manikant Mishra, senior superintendent of police (SSP), Udham Singh Nagar. The action comes just a few days after the district administration conducted a survey of the madrasas. Most of them were sealed from Khatima to Jaspur due lack of relevant documents, officials said. The encroachment of the madrasa of Kichha area came to light during the survey when officials found that it was built on government land and has no registration. The administration had served a notice to the management to produce relevant documents. The notice period ended on Wednesday and when the management failed to produce the documents, the administration arrived with police and JCB at around 5am on Saturday and razed the structure....
