LUCKNOW, April 21 -- A day after a missing complaint triggered a police probe, the case of a youth from the city has turned into a murder investigation, with three accused - two men and a woman - arrested for allegedly killing him in Tamil Nadu after luring him with a job offer.
"The victim, Saurabh Rawat, a resident of Rampurwa village under Mahigawan police station limits in Bakshi ka Talab, was taken along from his home on April 10 on the pretext of employment. Police said the accused travelled with him to Tamil Nadu, where he was later killed near Jolarpettai railway junction," said police.
A Lucknow Police release stated: "The accused lured the victim on the pretext of providing a job and took him along, where he was murdered as part of a pre-planned conspiracy."
After the incident, the accused allegedly returned without informing the family. Concern grew when Saurabh stopped responding to calls, prompting his mother to file a complaint on April 19.
"During the investigation, suspicion fell on three individuals from Barabanki - Akhilesh, Kamlesh and Preeti - who were taken into custody and later confessed to the crime during interrogation," the release added....
