Lucknow police cancel leave of all personnel
LUCKNOW, May 10 -- Amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the Lucknow police commissionerate has cancelled all kinds of leave of personnel with immediate effect, except in special circumstances. Though the order does not specify the exact reason, the move is believed to be in response to security concerns in the wake of the escalated border situation.
The directive, issued under the instructions of police commissioner Amrendra K Sengar, was formally released by joint commissioner of police (crime and headquarters) Amit Verma.
On alert mode in view of India-Pakistan tensions, the Lucknow police have intensified security across key locations in the city. Police presence has been increased around prominent buildings, markets, and crowded areas to prevent any untoward incident.
According to senior police officials, special focus is on railway stations, bus stops, metro stations, and the Cantonment area, where continuous checks and foot patrols are being carried out.HTC...
