Lucknow, Nov. 11 -- Lucknow police commissioner Amrendra Kumar Sengar on Monday flagged off 13 new four-wheeler Police Response Vehicles (PRVs) under the Dial-112 service, with an aim to improve emergency response and ensure quicker help for citizens. The new vehicles will strengthen the city's emergency network and help police reach people in distress more quickly. The launch event was attended by joint commissioner of police Amit Kumar Verma, DCP Vikrant Veer, additional DCP (Dial-112) Rajesh Kumar Yadav, and ACP (Dial-112) Saumya Pandey, along with other senior officers. Officials said the new PRVs are fitted with GPS tracking, modern communication tools, and real-time monitoring systems. These features are expected to further reduce response time. At present, the average police response time in Lucknow is 8 minutes 28 seconds in urban areas and 10 minutes 23 seconds in rural areas, already better than the state standard. Commissioner Sengar said the aim is to bring the average response time down to 5-8 minutes in urban areas and 8-10 minutes in rural regions. "This initiative reflects our commitment to citizen safety and trust. Every call to dial-112 will get a quick and effective police response," he said, adding that the effort supports the police's motto of 'Sewa, Suraksha aur Vishwas' (service, security and trust). With the addition of these 13 new PRVs, the coverage and efficiency of the dial-112 service in Lucknow are expected to improve, ensuring faster and more reliable emergency assistance for residents....
