Lucknow man arrested for raping two minor stepdaughters
LUCKNOW, Aug. 24 -- A day after taking a man into custody, Gomti Nagar police on Saturday arrested him for repeatedly raping his two minor stepdaughters after the victims called women's helpline 1090 and narrated their ordeal.
Their mother, instead of supporting them, allegedly beat both sisters and later absconded.
"The 33-year-old man from Unnao has also been booked under sections 65(1), 65(2), 115(2), 351(3) BNS and 5/6 of the POCSO Act," stated a press note by Lucknow police.
"The arrested accused is being produced before the court," said SHO Gomti Nagar, BC Tiwari.
Police said the sisters had been subjected to sexual abuse for a long time. Whenever their mother went out for work, the stepfather sexually assaulted them. When the girls protested and informed their mother, she refused to believe them and thrashed them.
The victims told police that initially they mistook his advances as affection, but when he crossed his limits, they realised his intentions.
"When we opposed his dirty acts, our mother silenced us and later beat us badly. That gave him more courage," one of the sisters told investigators....
