LUCKNOW, Sept. 14 -- A 20-year-old man in Lucknow has alleged that he was brutally assaulted at a bar after protesting against inflated beer prices. According to the FIR lodged at Ghazipur police station, complainant Vinay Kumar Awasthi, a resident of Indiranagar, stated that he had gone to a bar in Munshi Pulia around 10:45 pm on September 10, where he alleged that a beer priced at Rs.185 was being sold to him for Rs.200. According to the complaint, when he questioned the extra charge, the bar manager allegedly lost his temper. The manager, along with 10-12 staff members, locked him inside the bar, abused him, and assaulted him. He further alleged that they tried to strangle him and attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving him with serious injuries on his head, back, and hand. According to the FIR, multiple sections of the BNS, 2023, have been invoked in the case, including Section 191(2), 115(2), 118(1), 352, and 127(2) . The case was registered at Ghazipur police station on September 12.
