Lucknow airport suspends visitor passes for 3 days
Lucknow, Nov. 13 -- Following the recent blast incident near Delhi's Red Fort, security has been tightened at Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, with several precautionary measures imposed to ensure passenger safety, including a temporary suspension of visitor passes for the next three days.
Under the new measures, only ticketed passengers will be allowed inside the airport premises, ending the usual practice of issuing entry passes to those accompanying or receiving travellers, according to the airport officials.
Security forces have strengthened multi-layered checking systems, with every vehicle entering the airport undergoing thorough inspection.
Passengers' luggage is being screened multiple times using scanners and handheld detectors.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and airport police have increased their deployment both inside and outside the terminal.
Bomb disposal squads and dog units remain on high alert to respond to any potential threat.
Airport authorities have described the move as a "precautionary step" aimed at ensuring public safety in light of recent developments.
Passengers have been advised to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled flight to allow sufficient time for the enhanced screening procedures.
