LU students up in arms over 'slap' to research scholar
LUCKNOW, Nov. 16 -- Several students associated with Sanyukt Chhatra Sabha protested at Lucknow University on Saturday over the alleged slapping of a research scholar by a teacher and what they called increasing repressive activities on campus.
Protesters alleged that a research scholar in the Hindi department was slapped on Friday by assistant professor Rahul Pandey.
They raised concerns over the heavy police presence on campus, the conduct of the proctorial team, and videos shared on social media by police and university officials. They demanded the immediate suspension of Pandey, withdrawal of police from the campus, and mandatory inclusion of women members in the proctorial team. HTC...
