Agra, June 18 -- Lieutenant general V Hariharan assumed command as the general officer commanding (GOC) of 1 Corps in Mathura on Tuesday, succeeding Lieutenant General Sanjay Mitra. Lieutenant general V Hariharan alumnus of Officer Training Academy, Chennai, was commissioned into 10 Battalion, The Garhwal Rifles on 25th August 1990, said a press statement issued by the Press Information Bureau (Defence Wing) government of India.
