Lt Gen Sengupta honours Kargil bravehearts
LUCKNOW, July 27 -- A wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Central Command War Memorial 'Smritika' in Lucknow Cantonment on Saturday to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas and honour the valour and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers who lost their lives in the Kargil War.
The ceremony was presided over by Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Central Command, who laid a wreath on behalf of all ranks of the Command. Members of the veteran community also participated in the tribute, symbolising the enduring bond and shared legacy between serving and retired soldiers.
Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta also interacted with veterans at the Lucknow Military Station. During the interaction, he acknowledged their invaluable contributions to nation-building and reaffirmed the Indian Army's steadfast commitment to ensuring the welfare and well-being of its veterans....
