Logistics and supply chain key to state's progress, meet finds
LUCKNOW, June 22 -- Future strategies, investment opportunities, and digital transformation in the logistics and supply chain sector were discussed at the 'Uttar Pradesh Logistics and Supply Chain Summit 2025' in Noida.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) jointly organised the third edition of the summit on Friday.
Addressing the gathering, Mayur Maheshwari, CEO of UPSIDA, stated that Uttar Pradesh is transitioning from traditional e-commerce to mobile commerce (m-commerce). While the state once struggled with potholed roads, now 50% of roads are access-controlled expressways, he emphasised.
Maheshwari also pointed out that Noida's infrastructure is now more advanced than its NCR counterparts. Referring to companies AB Mauri and Ashok Leyland, he said they are in the process of setting up advanced manufacturing units in the state.
Shashank Chaudhary, additional CEO of Invest UP, said that the state has become one of the safest and most investor-friendly states in the country. He pointed out that the strong single-window system has made doing business simpler.
Jasjit Sethi, chief strategy officer, Transport Corporation of India Ltd, described logistics as the invisible backbone of development. He laid stress on attracting investment in sectors like automotive, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Mahesh Munjal, chairman of CII western U.P. zonal council, stated that supply chain and logistics have become critical enablers of business success, evolving from transactional and compliance-focused functions into strategic drivers of competitiveness....
