Locals protest after remains of 3 stolen cattle found in Kareli
PRAYAGRAJ, May 7 -- Tension flared in Kareli on Tuesday morning after locals discovered the remains of three stolen cattle near a mobile tower in Pal Nagar Dahi.
As soon as the information spread, locals including members of the Gau Raksha Samiti, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal reached the site and staged a protest. They raised slogans and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits after identifying them.
Police teams from Kareli and Airport police stations also reached the spot. A case has been registered against unknown persons on the complaint of Jangli Nishad, a resident of Karedha area, police officials said.
As per reports, three cattle tied outside the house of Jangli Nishad were stolen on Monday night. Family members inquired around but did not get any information. On Tuesday morning, while searching for the missing bovines, the family members reached near the mobile tower in Pal Nagar Dahi area and found severed heads and bones of the cattle soaked in blood.
Doctors from the animal husbandry department conducted a post-mortem examination of the bovine remains and collected samples. After the post-mortem, a pit was dug with a JCB and the remains were buried....
