LMC transfers over 20 officers, including seven zonal officers
LUCKNOW, Nov. 4 -- The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) transferred multiple zonal officers, revenue inspectors, tax superintendent and others, on Monday.
Around 20 officers, including seven zonal officers and five zonal sanitary officers, were shifted in a major reshuffle that has sparked unrest within the civic body.
Officials received sealed envelopes informing them of their transfers, catching many by surprise during a tax- related meeting at the Smart City office.
Municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar issued the transfer orders, giving preference to Provincial Civil Service officers on key postings of zonal officers.
Three zonal officers were shifted to take care of roles of tax superintendents and zonal sanitary officer, while four were assigned new zones.
Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, when contacted for her comment on the development, said that she was unaware of the transfers.
"No information was shared with me, but public-related work must not suffer," she said....
