Lucknow, Nov. 12 -- The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is set to introduce colour-coded garbage collection carts in an effort to curb the use of unauthorised vehicles allegedly operated by Bangladeshi and Rohingya individuals. The civic body has announced that all official garbage carts will be painted in green and blue, making it easier to distinguish them from illegal and privately operated ones. Municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar has instructed all additional municipal commissioners to ensure that around 10,000 authorised carts are painted within a month. Each cart will also display its respective zone's name and number. According to the LMC, private operators-reportedly including alleged Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants-are collecting waste without permission. To prevent such activities, any garbage cart found operating in colours other than the designated green and blue will lead to disciplinary action against the zonal officer concerned....
