Lucknow, Sept. 26 -- The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) on Wednesday launched a special campaign under the theme "Swachhata Hi Seva - One Day, One Hour, Together" to promote public hygiene and community participation. The campaign, part of a broader 156-hour cleanliness drive, was inaugurated by Mayor Sushma Kharkwal at Power House Chauraha in Vidyawati-3 Ward (Zone-8). Kharkwal said the initiative goes beyond cleaning public spaces. "This campaign is not limited to just cleaning roads and drains. It is about integrating cleanliness into our way of life. A cleaner Lucknow is only possible when each and every citizen contributes," she said. The drive will continue in phases and is aimed at boosting Lucknow's performance in the Swachh Survekshan. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) carried out the 'Ek Din - Ek Ghanta - Ek Saath' cleanliness drive under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign on Thursday.
