LMC files FIR against 8 for encroaching drain land in Kakoli Village
LUCKNOW, May 5 -- The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) on Sunday lodged an FIR against eight people for illegally occupying government drain land in Kakoli village under Tehsil Sadar. The encroachment has disrupted the construction of a vital drainage system, leading to public inconvenience, said additional municipal commissioner Pankaj Srivastava.
He said that municipal corporation accountant Pradeep Giri filed the FIR at Madiyaon police station after an inspection revealed unauthorised permanent and temporary structures on 0.253 hectares of government land, listed under Khasra number 313.
The LMC officials said the illegal construction includes seven concrete houses and multiple huts, directly blocking drain work and causing sanitation issues for nearby residents.
Acting on the FIR, LMC has formed an enforcement team comprising officials from its engineering and property departments, Madiyaon police, and the revenue department.
The action comes a day after municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar directed civic officials to intensify the crackdown on encroachments across the city....
