LUCKNOW, Aug. 23 -- Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) officials were on Friday directed to speed up streetlight repairs, patchwork for damaged roads, and drainage clearance ahead of the upcoming festivals. Mayor Sushma Kharkwal passed the instructions while chairing an executive committee meeting here. The committee also discussed sewer-related complaints, improvement of parks, maintenance of pink toilets, and providing timely jobs to dependents of deceased employees. Also, corporator Charanjit Gandhi was unanimously elected the committee's deputy vice-chairman. Gandhi's election followed the recent induction of six new members into the executive body.
