LLB student dies after being hit by pickup truck
LUCKNOW, July 11 -- A tragic road accident claimed the life of a young LLB student in Lucknow on Wednesday evening. The victim, identified as 22-year-old Shobhit Singh, was on his way home after purchasing books from the city when a speeding pickup truck rammed into his bike near Amausi Metro Station on Kanpur Road.
On the complaint of the deceased's brother Sameer Singh, a Banthra resident, Sarojini Nagar police on Thursday registered an FIR under section 281 (rash or negligent driving), 106 (1) (causing death by negligent driving) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita against the unidentified driver of the vehicle.
According to the FIR, the brother of the deceased told police that the incident occurred around 7 pm on Wednesday when a blue logistics pickup (bearing registration number UP 27 BT 8223) hit Shobhit's two-wheeler.
"Passersby rushed the critically injured student to the Sarojini Nagar Community Health Centre. He was later transferred by his family to a private hospital in Bijnor, where he succumbed to his injuries late at night during treatment," said Singh in his police complaint.
Shobhit, a resident of Banthra village, was pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at a private college in Gauri in Lucknow, under the Sarojini Nagar area....
