Lko: Third FIR over banned kite string, unknown person booked in doc injury
LUCKNOW, March 3 -- An FIR has been registered against an unidentified person after a doctor from King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, was injured by a prohibited glass-coated kite string on February 25 in the Chowk area, with nearly 12 such incidents and three FIRs recorded in the city over the past month.
Police said the case was lodged on February 26 at Chowk police station under Sections 223, 110 and 285 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The matter surfaced publicly on Monday.
The latest case comes after the death of Md Shoib in Bazar Khala on February 2. Earlier, cases were registered at Bazar Khala police station in connection with Shoib's death and at Hussainganj after 29-year-old Mohammad Musharraf was injured.
In the recent incident, Dr Deepak Kumar Gupta, department of community medicine, KGMU, stated in his complaint that he was heading to Sarojininagar for duty around 10.05 am on February 25 when the incident occurred.
"When I reached near Vishal Mega Mart on the flyover descending from Chowk towards Haiderganj, a banned glass-coated kite string allegedly struck my neck," Gupta stated in the FIR.
He said he was wearing a helmet but had kept the visor open. He added that had the visor been closed, the injury could have been fatal.
The string allegedly caused deep cuts near his nose and both eyes, and he narrowly escaped a serious eye injury.
Gupta referred to earlier incidents in Chowk and Bazar Khala, stating that one person had lost his life due to such strings....
