lko ramps up drainage work to prevent flooding
LUCKNOW, May 23 -- The monsoon is just round the corner, and waterlogging remains a serious concern in Lucknow. The administration has stepped up efforts to improve the drainage system. On Thursday, divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob inspected several important drainage points across the city to prevent flooding in areas known for waterlogging. She said that dealing with this problem is a top priority for the administration.
The inspection, carried out under the directive of chief minister Yogi Adityanath, centred on assessing the preparedness of major drains within the jurisdiction of the municipal corporation. Prominent locations such as the Golf City area, Dayal Paradise Square, the drain near Janeshwar Mishra Park gate, Wazirganj Nala in the Golaganj ward, Abdul Aziz Road in Chowk, and Ahmed Hasan Kothi near Akbari Gate were examined.
